Create A Family through Gestational Surrogacy

As the only local, full-service agency in Virginia exclusively dedicated to surrogacy, we have more than fifteen years of experience helping Intended Parents fulfill their lifelong desire to create a family.
Chesapeake Surrogacy Center is involved in every step of the surrogacy process. We don’t believe that our job ends with matching. If you haven’t created embryos yet, we are happy to explain the IVF process. If you need a donor, we can refer you to fantastic local and national egg/sperm donor programs. Our center helps with budget planning by comparing costs across service providers.

Once you have your embryos and chosen surrogate, we work closely with the third-party coordinator at your clinic to make sure your cycle is off to a great start. This means that our surrogates arrive at the clinic with all the necessary paperwork in hand and verified surrogacy-friendly insurance.

What is Gestational Surrogacy?

Gestational surrogacy is a method for having a child for individuals and couples. Intended parents work with a gestational carrier who becomes pregnant using embryos created with (1) the intended mother’s ovum or donor ovum, and (2) the intended father’s sperm or donor sperm. The Gestational Surrogate has no genetic relationship to the baby. She acts as the oven for a very precious bun!

Who is involved in surrogacy?

The surrogacy process involves the gestational carrier, intended parents, fertility clinic, attorneys who draw up contracts, psychologists who assess the mental state of everyone involved, escrow companies that handle the funds, and an agency that coordinates all parties involved.

What does the medical cycle involve?

Prior to the embryo transfer, the carrier takes cycling medications to control and suppress ovulation and build up the uterine lining to prepare for embryo implantation. Regular visits to the clinic for monitoring hormone levels and uterine lining thickness are necessary. The embryo transfer is a short, painless procedure performed by a doctor using a tiny catheter.
